Its founder Alexey Lazutin spoke about what steps the company had to go through to achieve such results.
I started working in the precious metals purchasing market back in 2010: first as deputy general director of the Mosgorlombard pawnshop network, then as head of the pawnshop department at the largest pawnshop network, which at that time numbered about 550 retail outlets. Probably, everything would have remained this way if the Central Bank had not entered the pawnshop market in 2014. Largely thanks to Konstantin’s experience, the young company, which at that time had not yet established itself in the market, managed to competently negotiate and establish mutually beneficial cooperation with Krastsvetmet, one of the country’s 11 refineries, and also obtain good conditions with partners in other areas.
So, we had a source of raw materials, many pawnshops experienced a shortage of working capital and needed to sell purchased jewelry or scrap gold (it is difficult for a small pawnshop to hand over the remaining unredeemed lots of 100-200 grams of gold per month; the plant is not interested in such lots). It was possible to recycle scrap, but we needed working capital to purchase gold from pawnshops. Dmitry Pluschevsky told me and other partners about the StartTrack investment platform.
