At the very beginning of the game, when you do not yet have an axe, you can collect wood with your bare hands, by hitting the trunk with your fists, or simply picking up wood from the ground. When you have an ax, everything is much simpler, because there are forests and abandoned houses around you. If you find an abandoned building, then you have the opportunity to collect wood easily and quickly. Abandoned buildings can often yield other items as well.

Attention:

Do not use an ax or other tools to destroy the building. Instead, place a workbench inside and only then start demolishing the walls and roof with a hammer (while holding the hammer, click on the mouse wheel to demolish all the elements of the building). When you have collected everything you need, you can remove the workbench and move on. Even if you don't need wood, still look into abandoned buildings - they contain a lot of useful things.

Historical information

The first deposits in Russia were discovered in the 18th century. This fact is associated with a situation where one worker found what he thought was the most ordinary stone in the Yekaterinburg district. He reported the discovery to an employee of the Office of the main plant of this city. The worker then continued excavating the area where he found the first element. The minerals contained small grains that looked like gold. Later this deposit was called Initial.

Back in the 5th century, places in Russia were identified where it was already possible to extract gold. While simple wood is available to you from the very beginning of the game and is used in construction, starting fires and creating tools and weapons, valuable types of wood become available after defeating the first boss (Eiktur). Quality wood is used to create improved structures and tools. For example, furniture and ships are made from such wood.

Valuable wood can only be obtained using a bronze ax (it requires tin and copper to create it). You will always recognize a birch by its thin white trunk with black spots; these trees grow on the plains and in the forest. Oaks, on the contrary, are thicker and darker than other trees; when you hover over the trunk of any tree, you will see its name, so it will be easier to search. Basically, oaks can be found in the same place as birches.

Extraction methods

Diamond mining can be divided into two important stages - obtaining ore and processing it.

Mining of ore containing diamonds is carried out using open and closed methods. From an economic point of view, the first option is more profitable. There is a third, combined method. When, having started development using an open method, they switch to a closed method.

The justification for choosing the type of mining is influenced by a number of objective and subjective factors: the depth and expected volumes of mineral occurrence, climatic conditions, logistics, etc. In each specific case, the expected costs and the expected economic effect are calculated.

Open pit mining

This method involves removing the top layer of soil and then, using the directed explosion method, the crater spirals deeper into several hundred meters. The collapsed rock is loaded into huge dump trucks and delivered to processing plants. The extraction method is practically safe and does not require huge costs.

Closed mining

It is produced in the bowels of the earth by creating a system of tunnels - mines. In earlier time periods, diamonds had to be mined with a pickaxe. This profession was called “miner”, i.e. working in a mountain (mine). Hard, long hours of work in conditions of reduced visibility and increased danger have been the main route to diamond mining for many years.

Currently, mining machines extract and load rock into trolleys that transport it to the surface. Next, the rock containing diamonds is also sent to mining and processing plants. Closed mining allows the extraction of valuable minerals from deeper layers of rock, but is associated with high costs and certain dangers. Risk factors include: rock collapse, explosion hazard, lack of oxygen, etc. Therefore, the mine mining method is used in cases where open-pit mining is impossible.

Open-closed method

The need to combine previous mining options arises when open-pit mining is no longer possible, and significant volumes of the mineral lie at a sufficient depth.

Mining and processing plant

The incoming rock passes through a complex system of grinders and crushers. The large pieces are then washed with water, which makes the diamonds immediately visible. Small ones, for the same purpose, are exposed to special reagents.

To check the residual diamond content in the rock, additional X-ray luminescence separation is carried out. When X-rays hit a mineral, it begins to glow.

Production cannot do without monotonous manual labor. At the last stage, the remains of excess rock that is not related to minerals are manually discarded. The remaining diamonds are sorted.

Coal in the game acts as both a building material and a fuel, so you need it constantly. It can be obtained by exploring the area - coal drops from surtlings, and is also often found in chests in abandoned buildings. You can also craft coal yourself from different materials. For example, if you hold raw meat or nix tail over a fire, they will turn into coal. The easiest way to make charcoal is from wood, but this will require building a charcoal stove. The blueprint for it opens when you mine the first Surtling Core. To create a coal furnace you will need 20 units of stone, 5 surtling cores and a workbench. You can now place up to 25 wood (quality or regular) into the oven at a time. One unit of wood will produce one unit of coal.

Registration of a license

According to the current legislation of Russia, all companies that know where and how gold is mined and are engaged in this work must obtain a license. This document is also necessary for companies that sell and dispose of precious substances.

The Federal Law “On Licensing of Certain Types of Activities” specifies a special procedure according to which a certain list of enterprises working with precious metals must have the appropriate documentation.

Entrepreneurs can also obtain a license, but this is a very painstaking procedure. Completing the documentation will require not only time and patience, but also a fairly large amount of money. Therefore, private entrepreneurs rarely direct their activities to the extraction of precious metals, because this does not always pay off. Some deposits can produce fossils for 2-3 weeks and then turn out to be empty. This will lead to bankruptcy of the company, losses and problems with legislation.

Therefore, small firms prefer to form an alliance and develop new sources together. All specialists can work in one mine at the same time or disperse their forces in different deposits, trying to get more gold in the same period.

Entrepreneurs have more than once turned to the authorities with a request to simplify the procedure for obtaining a license, because this requires collecting a large package of documents and personally visiting many authorities. Perhaps legislators will eventually listen to their requests and allow them to quickly legalize the activities of companies in the field of gold mining. This will increase the number of companies that will replenish the precious metals market with yellow minerals.

As for gold mining in Russia by individuals, after receiving the coveted license, as already mentioned, you will be able to mine it only by hand: with a metal detector, a washing tray, or using a hand dredge. The Kraken is completely harmless, but it does not stay on the surface for long and can be difficult to find. So once you find it, get to work right away. Collected crustaceans will give you chitin. For the Abyssal Harpoon you will need 30 chitin, and for the Abyssal Blade you will need 20.

You can mine copper and tin. To do this, you need to go to the Black Forest - a gloomy place filled with evil spirits. You need to have all possible tools and weapons for battle with you. In the forest there are green cobblestones covered with moss. There are deposits of tin and copper located there. Hover your mouse over the “veins” in the stone and you will see inscriptions about what kind of resource is located in this place. Remember that metal is very heavy, and you won’t be able to carry more than 20 units.

Classification of oil fields

Let’s say right away that not all oil-bearing reservoirs can be called fields. For example, if the volume of mineral reserves is small, then spending money on developing such reservoirs is unprofitable from an economic point of view. Therefore, an oil field is a collection of oil-bearing areas that are located close to each other in a certain area. The area of the deposit can vary from several tens to several hundred square kilometers.

Based on the volume of their natural resources, all deposits are conventionally divided into five categories:

small ones, whose volumes are less than ten million tons of oil produced;
medium: the amount of reserves from ten to one hundred million tons (for example, deposits such as Verkhne-Tarskoye, Kukmol, and so on);
large - reserves range from one hundred million to one billion tons (Pravdinskoye, Kalamkas and others);
the largest (in other words, gigantic) - from one to five billion tons of black gold (Romashkinskoye, Samotlorskoye and others);
unique (supergiant) - more than five billion tons (such deposits include Al-Gawar, Big Kurgan, Er-Rumaila).
